The Division of Emergency Preparedness and Response (DEPR) submitted the required Risk Assessment Data Elements (RADE) report to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on January 31, 2025, as required. As promised, a copy is being made available to LHDs.
BEPESoC is hosting a free, 8-hour DHS/FEMA-certified emergency preparedness class to educate participants on the planning efforts needed to ensure the safety of individuals with access and functional needs during a crisis event. This course is specifically tailored for rural and Tribal communities, ensuring that you and your team are prepared for any situation.

This position, “serves as resident subject matter expert related to crisis and emergency risk communication (CERC), providing guidance to leadership and other program areas on effective communication strategies to help individuals, stakeholders, and communities make the best possible decisions for their health and the health of their loved ones during emergencies; engages in emergency response planning and exercise development.” This job opportunity closes on February 13, 2025.

Through natural disasters, active assailant events, and even pandemics, Healthcare emergency managers are consistently challenged to help their organizations plan, train, and respond to incidents. - Distributing medical countermeasures is a critical part of any public health emergency. Public health, hospital, and other healthcare partners work together to ensure medical countermeasure get to the public as quickly as possible. These medical countermeasures come from the federal government cache, the Strategic National Stockpile. In this presentation, presenters from local public health, and healthcare coalitions cover the process from start to finish. This includes the request for assets through how each partner moves them through the process.

The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) has published a new resource of LHDs titled, “NACCHO Chemical-Preparedness-Handbook.”
