The Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) cooperative agreement work plan for local health departments (LHDs) is now available. There are several things to note about the work plan for this cooperative agreement period:
- The work plan is a five-year plan with updates expected throughout the five-year cooperative agreement period based on additional guidance, exercise objectives, etc. sent by CDC.
- DEPR streamlined the work plan document to focus on activities and deliverables.
- Page 3 of the work plan refers to Attachment III. EPCs are expected to familiarize themselves with this important document, which covers administrative, financial and other federal and programmatic requirements.
- Additional guidance documents have been created that cover topics such as NIMS training compliance requirements, staff assembly exercise components, records retention, etc.
- These guidance documents have been placed in the MIHAN Document Library at: Documents → Local Health → EPC General → PHEP 2024-2029 → Guidance Documents.
- There is a signature page at the end of the work plan that must be completed and returned to DEPR no later than September 6, 2024. Note: both the EPC and the health officer are required to sign this page.
