The Bureau of Emergency Preparedness, EMS and Systems of Care will be hosting ICS 300 August 12 – August 14, 2024, in Lansing. Dr. Karla Black from Kent County Health Department and Luke Aurner, Region 6 Healthcare Coalition Coordinator, will be teaching the course. This is a great course for health care, Healthcare Coalitions, local health departments, tribes, and others to attend. Below is the registration instructions and prerequisite information. The MDHHS COVID-19 hotline will sunset on June 30, 2024. The (888) 535-6316 phone number will remain active for one month after the hotline ends service with a pre-recorded message directing callers to other sources of COVID related information. After which the phone number will be deactivated.
Over the last four years, many agencies and organizations have placed the COVID hotline phone number on their website; however, it's impossible to know the exact reach to provide proper notification. To this end, each health department is asked to review and update their website, as necessary. Also, please share this information with any local partners that may have COVID hotline information on their website.

The next PHEP Partners meeting on July 11 will feature two presentations: 1) Resources for extreme heat situations with Caroline Helsen with the Division of Environmental Health at MDHHS and the Michigan Climate and Health Adaptation Program (MICHAP) program, along with Chad Veeser of Michigan 211. 2) CORES HAN with Denise Fleming and Brian Nickolaus, Client Success Manager at Juvare. Registration is now open for the MDHHS Emergency Response Volunteer Conference on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center in East Lansing, MI. Funding for this conference was made possible by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response, Medical Reserve Corps – State, Territory and Tribal Nationals, representative organizations for next generation (MRC-STTRONG) cooperative agreement.
