The BP4 year-end progress report for LHDs is now live in Qualtrics. The deadline for completion of the report is July 28, 2023.
At last! The BP5 work plan for LHDs has been approved and is now available. The BP5 work plan for tribes will be sent directly to the tribal health contacts. Copies of both work plans will be posted in the document library of the MIHAN by COB on Friday, July 7. The National Access and Functional Needs (AFN) Symposium will bring the disability community together with emergency managers, disaster planners, and first responders from across the country in an online forum to foster an environment of trust and understanding vital to advancing the mission of access and functional needs throughout the nation.
The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (CDHSEM), and New York University (NYU) are hosting the two, half-day, online National AFN Symposium to highlight forward-leaning, inclusive, innovative practices in emergency management. The Symposium is sponsored by the American Red Cross and Big City Emergency Managers (BCEM).
There is no cost to register and participate. The symposium runs from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. (ET) both days. Go to the event web page to reserve a spot.
FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute is offering K0418: Mass Care/Emergency Assistance Planning and Operations as a facilitated distance learning training event using Adobe Connect sessions. The course will be offered twice during BP5: October 23–26, 2023 (11 a.m.–4 p.m. Eastern Time), and June 3–6, 2024 (11 a.m.–4 p.m. Eastern Time). This course will be held over 4 consecutive days at 5 hours per day. See the course flyer for prerequisites and other important information.
This annual conference will be held August 2-3, 2023, at the Kewadin Casino Hotel in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. The Rural & Ready Conference aims to enhance the response capabilities of both American and Canadian First Responders, Medical Providers and all others involved in emergency planning and response in rural communities.
