BP5 work plans for LHDs and tribes are in the final stages of review by management and we anticipate their release next week. Again, this budget period there are separate work plan documents for LHDs and tribes. Copies of both documents will be posted to the document library on the MIHAN once released.

FEMA’s EMI announced the availability of a virtual training course available July 16-21, 2023. The course is K0418 Mass Care/Emergency Assistance Planning and Operations.
Course Length: 20 hours of online instruction. This virtual course will be held over 4 consecutive days (5 hours/day). CDC recently launched a new tool for jurisdictions on How to Develop Products for Adults with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities and Extreme Low Literacy (IDD/ELL). Creators of the tool reviewed research conducted with adults with IDD/ELL and did audience testing with this group and their caregivers. The tool includes a user guide, a score sheet with 27 yes/no questions about materials being developed, and instructions on calculating and interpreting the material’s score.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), recently published National Model Standards for Peer Support Certification - PDF for substance use, mental health, and family peer workers. The national model standards were created to accelerate universal adoption, recognition, and integration of the peer workforce across all elements of the healthcare system. A peer worker is someone who, through their own lived experience of addressing a substance use or mental health issue, works to help others.
