GETS/WPS Information

Sudden communication disruption resulting in network congestion or degradation can be the result of common incidents, such as weather-related events, cyber-attacks, and human errors. These communication disruptions can restrict response times and critical information sharing among essential personnel and organizations. This one-page flyer is designed to share information about Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS) and Wireless Priority Services (WPS). These federal programs enhance communication during disasters by allowing certain users to have prioritized communication access via wireline commercial networks and some priority of cellular networks and wireless. Please view the flyer and share with your partners.

BEPESOC Renovation – Part 2

The BEPESOC building began undergoing a complete renovation back in mid-December 2022 with the remodeling of the second floor. That phase of the renovation was completed this week. Part 2 will begin on Monday, January 9, 2023, with the renovation of the first-floor offices and the CHECC. The estimated completion date is January 27, 2023. While the renovation is taking place, most PHEP staff will be working remotely, with a few staff in the building on the second floor. BEPESOC staff can be reached via their usual email address and their State of Michigan cell phone.

The CHECC remains activated and will continue to be fully operational during the renovation period. During normal business hours the CHECC can be reached by email (checcdeptcoor@michigan.gov) or by calling 517-335-8150. Outside of normal business hours contact the CHECC Duty Officer at 517-819-0391 or email checcdeptcoor@michigan.gov.
