Welcome to the SHOARS Line newsletter! As a user of SHOARS, you will receive this newsletter any time we have important news and updates to share about the system. Your feedback is important to us, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at MDHHS-SHOARS-SUPPORT@Michigan.gov. Thank you for being a valued partner of the Division of HIV and STI Programs.
On July 16th several important updates went into effect, all aiming to improve your experience when using SHOARS. Here’s how we’ve improved SHOARS for you:
Grant Management Related Functions
- We have revamped the amendment approval process and other important grant management functions. To review these exciting updates, DHSP is hosting a training for all grant-funded agencies from 9am-10am on Wednesday, August 3rd.
- We will be sharing a pre-recorded training presentation, then opening things up to the group after for a live Q&A. Trust us, you do not want to miss it! Feel free to invite others in your organization who help manage grants and contracts with our Division by sharing the link to this registration.
Materials, Supplies, & Request Related Functions
- We have updated our language in a few places (functionality remains the same):
- “Start Materials and Information Request” has been changed to “Start SHOARS Request”
- “System Access Request” has been changed to “System Authorization Request”
- “Request Access” has been changed to “Finish Your SHOARS Profile Here”
Communication Related Functions
- Now you can use SHOARS to communicate with DHSP regarding a request, a training/event, an amendment, to ask a question, and more! Check out the new “Contact Us” feature on the SHOARS homepage.
More details regarding these improvements + training resources will be available soon on our website!
SHOARS is dynamic and will continue to evolve. For us to make SHOARS the best system it can be, we need your input! The more you interact with SHOARS and share your experience, the more improvements we can make. Have some suggestions on how we can improve the SHOARS experience? Please don’t hesitate to contact us!
