In this update:



BP4 PHEP Work Plans for LHDs and Tribes

The local health department (LHD) PHEP work plan for BP4 was published today. The PHEP work plan for tribes will be out early next week.


LHD EPCs should also note that Attachment III of the Comprehensive Contract was updated this year. All three documents will be posted in the Document Library of the MIHAN at: Documents -> Local Health -> EPC General -> PHEP BP4 FY 2022-2023. There is the usual signature page at the end of each work plan. The signature page for LHDs must be returned to DEPR no later than July 25, 2022.


Staff Changes at DEPR

DEPR is pleased to announce that Jason Smith is the new Healthcare and Public Health Policy Specialist and Emergency Management Coordinator. His contact information remains the same. This means that Jeannie Byrne is now your primary contact for all things medical countermeasures.


Trevor Quinlan is now the point of contact for Region 5 LHDs. Trevor can be reached by email at quinlant2@michigan.gov or by cell phone at (231) 357-6443.


Active Shooter Training by MSP

Michigan State Police (MSP) has Community Service Troopers that can provide Active Shooter training for 25-65 attendees during a session. You can reach them by visiting Community Service Troopers (CSTs) (michigan.gov) to find your local trooper. If facilities are interested in hosting an event, please point them toward the CST program.


CDP Online Radiological and Infectious Disease Courses

DEPR staff reviewed many of the radiological courses available on the Centers for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) website (https://cdp.dhs.gov/online_course). Below are three courses in which you might be interested:


AWR-336-W Health Sector Emergency Preparedness Distance Learning Course This course is targeted to emergency management, healthcare coalitions, healthcare providers and suppliers.


AWR-914-W Personal Protective Equipment Considerations for Infectious Agents This course has a great deal of content on donning and doffing of PPE.


PER-271-W Emergency Medical Response Awareness for CBRNE Incidents This course is ideal for staff directly connected to emergency preparedness and response.
