MDHHS wants to remind long-term care facilities that the Michigan National Guard (MING) is ready and willing to assist with vaccination clinics for any eligible residents who want a 2nd COVID booster dose, as well as any staff or residents in need of any COVID-19 vaccine. Currently, MING can conduct clinics through May 20, 2022. Please contact the MDHHS LTC email address at MDHHS-COVID-LongTermCare@michigan.gov for any additional questions or concerns, or if a facility needs assistance in vaccinating residents. Thank you for all your hard work in protecting Michigan’s most vulnerable residents from COVID-19.
The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has stressed the local public health system in unprecedented ways. The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) Medical Countermeasure Workgroup is in the process of developing a best practice and lessons learned compilation resource for local health departments based on their COVID-19 experiences. The workgroup is asking local health departments to support the collection of information by sharing experiences and lessons learned during the pandemic. The hope of the project is to provide our successors with valuable information that can be used to guide decisions in future emergency situations.
