Updated COVID-19 Vaccination Resources Available

CDC has updated the following COVID-19 vaccination resources:

Pediatric COVID-19 Vaccination Operational Planning Guide outlines key aspects of a COVID-19 vaccination program for children younger than 12 years old. This document was designed to inform jurisdictional planning under the assumption of FDA authorization and CDC recommendations of at least one COVID-19 vaccine product for children of this age. More information can be found in this White House Fact Sheet.

CDC's COVID-Vac Tool to Assess Your COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Staffing and Operations Needs is a spreadsheet-based tool designed to help managers set up and run their COVID-19 vaccination clinics to maximize patient flow. COVID-Vac helps vaccination clinic managers plan for staffing needs and run their clinics to maximize the number of patients who can be vaccinated during a 12-hour shift.

The CDC Science Brief: Evidence Used to Update the List of Underlying Medical Conditions Associated with Higher Risk for Severe COVID-19 provides the updated list of underlying medical conditions that put adults of any age at higher risk for severe illness from the virus that causes COVID-19.

LHD Staff Changes

The Midland County Health Department announced that Nicole Swanton was promoted to Director of Clinical Services and that Helen Lee was hired as the new EPC. Some of the veteran EPCs will remember Helen from her time as the EPC at Central Michigan District Health Department prior to Melissa DeRoche taking over.

November PHEP Partners Call Cancelled

The PHEP Partners call always occurs on the second Thursday of the month at 1:30 pm. In November, that date is the 11th, which is Veterans’ Day and a State holiday. Thus, the PHEP Partners call for November has been cancelled. The next PHEP Partners call will be December 9.
