Whether we recognize it or not, many of us are still recovering from life-changing impacts of the COVID-19 disaster. That’s why we’re offering the Summer Resilience Series: weekly one-hour programs on topics designed to help restore mental well-being. The Michigan Stay Well Program developed a series of 8 webinars over the past 2 months that address various aspects of resilience. The 8th webinar in the series will be broadcast on August 31, 2021. The brochure give more information as well as links to register. All 8 webinars will be recorded and can be accessed via the Stay Well website at https://michigan.gov/staywell.
For Situational Awareness Only. In coordination with the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC), the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) intends to communicate to intermediate school districts on the availability of personal protective equipment for schools in preparation for the upcoming school year. Communication will be sent directly from MDE with explicit instructions for ISD’s to submit requests. Similar to past PPE liquidation efforts, this initiative is intended to assist in augmenting supplies to address demand at the local level. Questions from local health departments on PPE distribution for schools can be directed to Jason Smith.
MDHHS has received several inquiries from local health departments specific to expired lots of Tamiflu and Relenza that may be held at local health departments. Please review carefully the expiration date in accordance with the above guidance before discarding inventory. These are the only lot numbers that HHS/ASPR has provided at this time.
Also, both Tamiflu blister packs and Relenza inhalational powder that may be stored at local health departments is also past expiration and disposal is permissible. Contact Jason Smith at for any questions.
