BP3 Work Plan for LHDs and Tribes

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic response, the work plan for Budget Period 3 (BP3) has been divided into two parts:

  • Part 1 covers the period of July 1 through December 31, 2021.
  • Part 2 covers the period of January 1, 2022, through June 30, 2022.

Part 1 will be released by March 31 with the signature page due back to DEPR by April 30, 2021. Part 2 will be released in the fall of 2021.

Part 1 of the BP3 work plan contains all the standard language regarding terms and conditions and administrative items. Activities/deliverables in Part 1 have been paired down to the following:

  • Submit updated contact information form
  • Submission of the after action report/improvement plan for the COVID pandemic
  • Attendance at monthly Teams meetings.
  • Tribes will have a quarterly conference call of their own
  • CRI requirements have been left in place because DEPR has had no official word from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of any changes.

Part 2 will contain its own set of activities/deliverables. Reach out to your regional point of contact if you have any questions.

PPE Push Packs for LHDs

MDHHS and the State Emergency Operations Center continue to offer personal protective equipment to support vaccination efforts at no cost to local health departments. Each push package contains the following items:

  • N95 Respirators – 1,000
  • Isolation Gowns – 1,000
  • Nitrile Examination Gloves (assorted sizes) – 2,000
  • Face Shields – 1,000
  • Procedure Masks – 5,000

Under Most circumstances, push packages can be delivered within one week after a submitted request. Local health departments interested in requesting one or more PPE push packages are encouraged to provide Jason Smith (smithj20@michigan.gov or 517-281-5362) with the following information no later than close of business on Monday of each week:

  • LHD Name
  • LHD Point of Contact (name, email, mobile phone)
  • Delivery Site Address
  • Delivery Site Hours of Operations (Monday through Friday)
  • Delivery Site Loading Dock (Yes/No)
  • Delivery Site Forklift (Yes/No)
  • Amount of Push Packages Requested

These push packages are intended to address immediate PPE needs for clinic operations. MDHHS recognizes that local health departments may have specialized needs for PPE outside of these push packages, though it is still recommended that requests outside of the contents listed above go through local emergency management.
