This update applies to all long term care facilities.
As the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services continues to evaluate the recent guidance released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid in QSO-20-39-NH Revised 3/10/21 and the impact to current MDHHS Requirements for Residential Care Facilities Order 3/2/21, the following applies:
- Skilled Nursing Facilities:
- Effective immediately, all licensed skilled nursing facilities in Michigan are directed to follow CMS visitation guidance per QSO-20-39-NH Revised 3/10/21.
- All other Residential Care Facilities (home for the aged, adult foster care facilities, hospice facilities, substance use disorder residential facilities and assisted living facilities)
- Pending further guidance to be issued week of March 15, 2021, all other residential care facilities are advised to continue to follow the current MDHHS Requirements for Residential Care Facilities Order 3/2/21.
