Changes to the Weekly LHD Sitrep

An immunization section for the LHD Sitrep was developed to fulfill the reporting requirements of the supplemental funding work plan. Beginning with the January 7, 2021, report:

LHDs will be required to report on COVID-19 vaccination clinics completed during the reporting week as well as clinics planned for the following week. This information will be uploaded as an Excel file. This report file has a tab for reporting vaccination clinics completed and a tab for reporting vaccination clinics planned. Be sure to save each tab as a separate file before uploading to the LHD Sitrep survey.

Additionally, for the first report only, LHDs are asked to submit a copy of their outreach and communication plans. All subsequent reports will ask for any updates or changes to this plan.

Requests for staffing assistance for vaccination clinics will continue to use the established process of submitting that request to the CHECC at checcdeptcoor@michigan.gov and will not be reported in the weekly sitrep.

Finding Long Term Care Facilities in Your Jurisdiction

Many long term care facilities such as assisted living facilities are not licensed by the State of Michigan; so, determining what facilities are within an LHDs jurisdiction can be tricky. Senior Care.com seems to have collected that information in one place. Check them out at https://www.seniorcare.com/assisted-living/search/. Send any feedback to the CHECC.

Sharing Best Practices and Bright Ideas

The term “best practices” seems to be a term people shy away from. Many think what they are doing is nothing special; it just works. At the same time, there are people looking for bright ideas they can use to improve what they are doing. Sharing what works for you might be the big idea someone else needs to make things work for them. To facilitate this sharing of ideas the CHECC has created a folder on the MIHAN where you can share what works for you in the area of mass vaccinations. The folder can be found at the following path: Documents > Local Health > BEST PRACTICES of LHDs > Mass Vaccination Best Practices.
