Change in Wording for COVID-19 LHD Sitrep

The weekly COVID-19 LHD Sitrep has had a minor change made to the last item in the survey. For staff numbers the words, "full time equivalents - FTE" or "FTEs" has been added to the first six categories to clarify what information is being sought.

Questions about the LHD Sitrep can be directed to Jim Koval, the CHECC Operations Section Chief, at MDHHS-CHECC-OPS@michigan.gov. Or you may call 517-749-1321.

PHEP BP2 (2020-2021) Work Plan

In this PHEP Update you will find the BP 2 (2020-2021) LHD and Tribal work plan.  As discussed on the PHEP Partners call yesterday we have striven to minimize the requirements of this workplan given the current and continued response to COVID-19.  EPCs and tribal health coordinators are to review the workplan with their health officer/director, request the necessary signature on the final page of the plan and email the signature page by August 31st to mdhhs-betp-depr-phep@michigan.gov.

It is critical that the contact information sheet for your organization be reviewed and updated. There is one form for LHD use and another form for tribal health partners use.

Mary Macqueen extends her sincere thanks to all for the work you are doing during this most difficult response.  As always DEPR and the CHECC stand ready to assist. Please send questions about the workplan to Jim Koval.

Long Term Care Facilities Being Required to Have Respiratory Protection Plans

Long term care (LTC) facilities have recently been mandated by the federal government to develop respiratory protection plans and to provide tit testing within their facilities as a component of providing N-95 masks for employees. As more and more regional LTC facilities look at compliance to fulfill these requirements, they are often left with more questions than answers to help them. This notice is to give EPCs a heads up that some LTC facilities within your jurisdiction may reach out for help in providing technical assistance on how to meet these requirements for their individual facilities. The CHECC knows that you may be aware of your community’s fit testing opportunities and are asking you to provide any guidance that you think would be helpful if contacted.

The following resources are given here for you to pass along to healthcare entities that may reach out to you:

Thank you in advance for your willingness to help when appropriate.
