Application Briefing on July 22, 2020, for Communities Affected by the Flooding in May

On July 9, 2020, President Trump declared a Major Disaster Declaration for Arenac, Gladwin, Iosco, Midland and Saginaw counties as the result of severe storms and flooding that occurred May 16-22, 2020. Declaration 4547-DR-MI authorized assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Public Assistance Grant Program (PAGP) to provide grants to state and local governments as well as certain nonprofit entities to assist with community response and recovery. 

 

The Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division (MSP/EMHSD) will host a virtual Applicant Briefing on July 22, 2020, at 9:30 am. The flyer linked below was sent to local emergency mangers. It is being provided to LHDs and tribal health partners for your reference as you work with local emergency managers.

Status of BP1 Deliverables

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted all health department programs. Due to the pandemic many of the PHEP BP1 deliverables were either waived or delayed. The status of BP1 deliverables was discussed on the July 9, 2020, conference call. Here is the list for your reference.


Monthly Partners Conference Calls Resume

July 1 marked the start of BP2 of the current cooperative agreement. It also marked the resumption of the monthly partners call with the July call held on July 9, 2020. The next partners call will be August 13, 2020. The contact information will be on the agenda header. 


PHEP Update Publication Resumes

With this issue, the PHEP Update resumes its regular publication schedule of the first and third weeks of the month. July has 5 weeks; so, the next PHEP Update will be August 6, 2020.
