Michigan Dept of Health & Human Services sent this bulletin at 06/04/2020 11:32 AM EDT
Many of you have questions about the Work Share program. The instructions below provide guidance on resolving common problems. Please read all instructions carefully.
Your Work Share letter and debit card have an incorrect or misspelled name.
Send an email to: UIA-Workshare@michigan.gov indicating “State Employee” in the subject line. In the body of the email include:
- Employee name
- Social Security number
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Include your name as it is indicated on the letter and debit card you received and what the correct information should be.
The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) will make every effort to respond to emails within 24 hours. After you have been notified by UIA that the correction has been made to UIA records, you must call the Bank of America at 866-436-1964 to have your debit card reissued.
You received the UIA Work Share letter, but have not received the debit card.
If you had a previous unemployment claim and had direct deposit information set up in your MiWAM account for that claim, the Work Share payment will be deposited to that account. If the account is no longer valid, you must change their payment information in MiWAM or by calling 866-500-0017, option 2.
If you had a previous unemployment claim and didn’t set up direct deposit information, send an email to: UIA-Workshare@michigan.gov indicating “State Employee” in the subject line. In the body of the email include:
- Employee name
- Social Security number
- Email address
- Telephone number
- State you have received a Work Share letter but have not received a debit card.

Email MDHHS-Workshare@michigan.gov and provide the following information:

- Department
PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to certify your Work Share claim. The state will certify on your behalf in the next few days.
