Pediatric Conference Coming in June

The Bureau of EMS, Trauma and Preparedness (BETP), is sponsoring a conference titled, “Pediatric Patients: Bridging the Readiness Gaps.”
This conference will bring together key professional stakeholders who oversee the care of pediatric patients from the pre-hospital setting to the emergency department and beyond. In order to facilitate a coordinated, regionalized, accountable system that provides immediate and appropriate care and timely transfers based on national guidelines and available resources for children.


The conference will take place on June 18, 2019, at the Lansing Center in Lansing, Michigan. There is no cost to attend. EMS and Social Worker credits are available. Continuing Medical Education credits are in process.

Save the Date: Advances in Special Pathogen Response

BETP is sponsoring a one-day conference on September 9, 2019 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center on the campus of Michigan State University titled, "The Advance in Special Pathogen Response."

 

The conference will bring together Hospital Staff, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, EMS, Regional Healthcare Coalition Members, Local & State Public Health, Tribal Health, Health Profession Students, Emergency Management and Behavioral Health professionals. Personnel Changes

Jackson County Health Department announced the retirement of their health officer, Richard Thoune effective May 18, 2019. Ms. Rashmi Travis, MPH, CHES has accepted the Jackson County Health Officer position and will succeed Mr. Thoune effective May 18. Ms. Travis served as Health Officer for 13 years in Allegan County. Most recently, she worked for MDHHS in the Population Health Administration in the areas of maternal and child health. Her first day at Jackson County Health Department was April 29, 2019.


Deliverable 9.2 - Quarter 4 IMATS Drill

For completion of the Quarter 4-IMATS Drill 9.2 deliverable, if you have not received an email with your shipping document and the IMATS instructions to support this drill by Thursday May 2nd, contact Jeannie Byrne at byrnej2@michigan.gov . For technical assistance with any IMATS platform issues, contact Denise Fleming at flemingd7@michigan.gov . Reminder that this drill is due June 30, 2019. There is nothing you will need to send for verification as your participation will be maintained within the IMATS system.


Three Tiered Component for the MI Volunteer Registry Task

Reminder that the Three Tiered Component for the MI Volunteer Registry task is due June 30, 2019. All EPC’s are required to complete the following to ensure you have met the 8.1 & 8.2 deliverable:

  • Attend a MI Volunteer Registry Training.
  • Send a test message via the Registry.
  • Outreach to at least 5 volunteers with incomplete profiles in your jurisdiction.
