Local Health Department Staff Changes

Benzie Leelanau District Health Department welcomed a new EPC in November 2018: Chloe Willets. Chloe can be contacted at cwilletts@bldhd.org


Chippewa County Health Department has hired Steve Carey as their new EPC replacing Trevor Quinlan. Steve’s first day as the EPC is January 28, 2019. He can be reached at: scarey@chippewahd.com.


Tom Barnes has accepted the position as IT Project Manager in Environmental Health at Macomb County Health Department. Macomb has posted the EPC position on SEMHA, http://www.semha.org/. Tom can still be reached at tom.barnes@macombgov.org. DEPR congratulates Tom on his promotion and thanks him for his work as an EPC.

Save the Date: LHD/Tribal Meeting May 6-7, 2019

Planning for the annual LHD/Tribal health meeting is underway. The meeting will take place from May 6-7 at the Kent County Health Department. The Division of Emergency Preparedness and Response (DEPR) is working to get a room block at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel; more information will be coming soon. DEPR is also planning to provide a continental breakfast on both mornings and lunch on May 6. May 7 will consist of a pandemic influenza workshop.
