The hepatitis A outbreak is slowing, but vigilance is still needed. A new Hepatitis A Sitrep was distributed to local health departments (LHDs) last week. LHDs are reminded the new report form is due to the CHECC on the third Thursday of the month by 12:00 Noon (EST); send the report to checcdeptcoor@michigan.gov. This new form replaces the former CHECC Sitrep and the former Vaccine Activity Reporting Grid. A copy of the form is located on the MIHAN at the following path: Documents -> Local Health -> CD investigation -> Michigan hepatitis A outbreak response materials -> CD, IMMS, & EH Conference call materials -> 20181025 Conference call -> updated SITREP Report. The CHECC currently remains active for this response and available for assistance as needed.
In October CDC released the 2018 version of the Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Capabilities: National Standards for State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Public Health. Preliminary analysis by DEPR staff shows that many of the capabilities have only modest changes. However, some capabilities have more significant updates: Capability 5 (Fatality Management) has extensive changes. Capabilities 8, 9, and 14 also have several new items. The Capabilities document can be found here.
Deliverable 9.1 drill 1 is due by January 4, 2019.
This deliverable is designed to help local health departments maintain a level of operational ability with the Inventory Management Asset Tracking System (IMATS) as their primary inventory management system for SNS assets. Specific instructions for completion of the drill are attached. This drill is asking LHD’s to review and update current IMATS users, roles, and facilities in preparation for Drill 2 (an upcoming 4th quarter deliverable). Drill 2 will have LHDs request, receive, put away materiel, and send a shipment to a PODs site for resupply. The IMATS Manual and a cheat sheet that will cue readers thorough specific steps are attached.

All LHDs should have received their BP1 year-end deliverable reports and documentation from Mary Macqueen. If you did not receive your letter or there are questions or concerns, please contact Mary Macqueen.
