September 2018 EPC Call Materials

Linked below are materials referenced during the September 13, 2018 EPC call.

  • How to Use GeoWebFace to Locate Wells
For questions regarding GeoWebFace, contact Steve Crider, Drinking Water Unit Manager with the MDHHS Toxicology and Response Section at criders1@michigan.gov or 517-284-9012.
  • BP1-17 Deliverables Tracking Template
Deliverable tracking form that will be sent with EOY letters to Health Officers and EPCs.
  • BP1-S Deliverables Tracking Template_DRAFT
Draft tracking form for the current budget period. Tracking form is considered draft and subject to change. As noted on the September EPC call, deliverable tracking forms and the quick reference list in the work plan should not be solely relied on for compliance. Activity and deliverable descriptions within the work plan clearly outline details of deliverable expectations and components.

BP1-S LHD Work Plan Activity 8: MI Volunteer Registry Proficiency

As outlined in the BP1-S LHD Work Plan deliverable 8.1 requirements, LHD MI Volunteer Registry administrators are required to participate in one MI Volunteer Registry Administrator training session. There is one remaining session scheduled for September 28, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT.

As part of the training sessions, DEPR provides an overview of the methodology to update volunteer profile information. Deliverable 8.2 of the work plan requires LHD Registry administrators to assist volunteers within their jurisdiction to reach 100% complete profile status. A tip sheet with sample email and phone message language has been developed to assist administrators with the process and is linked below.

2019 PPHR Letter of Intent Deadline

For LHDs interested in applying for Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) recognition in 2019, the deadline to submit a Letter of Intent is October 31, 2018. PPHR is a public health preparedness recognition program offered through the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO). PPHR is comprised of a set of nationally-recognized criteria that addresses three areas of preparedness: planning, workforce development and demonstrating readiness through exercises or real incident response. The cost for first-time applicants is $5,000 and is payable in two equal installments. $2,500 is due with the submission of a Letter of Intent (October 2018) and the remaining $2500 is due at the time of application submission (August 2019). The fee for PPHR is an allowable PHEP expense, and the payment of the fee is spread across two budget periods, which may make participation more feasible for LHDs with funding concerns.

For more information on PPHR, see documents linked below, visit NACCHO’s website at www.naccho.org/pphr and/or contact Katie Dunkle-Reynolds, the PPHR state lead for Michigan (dunklek@michigan.gov or 517-335-9972).
