FEMA IS-250 Course Discontinued

FEMA has discontinued the IS-250 “Emergency Support Function 15 (ESF 15) External Affairs: A New Approach to Emergency Communication and Information Distribution” outlined in Activity 2: LHD NIMS Training Compliance in the BP1-S LHD Work Plan. IS-250 was a required training for PIO and risk communication staff. EPCs will still need to keep training records for staff that previously completed the course according to record retention schedules. Concepts from IS-250 have been incorporated into the FEMA IS-800 “National Response Framework, an Introduction” course. IS-800 is already a required NIMS training for all tiers of LHD staff.
