BP1-17 End-of-Year Deliverables

As a reminder, the following BP1-17 LHD Work Plan EOY deliverables are due on July 27, 2018:

 

  • BP1-17 LHD End-of-Year Progress Report Survey
  • 3.1 - AAR/IP for any exercise, incident, or planned event
  • 10.1 – AAR/IPs for quarterly call down drills of MCM personnel
  • 12.1 – AAR/IP for annual volunteer notification (if not already submitted with mid-year)

BP1-S Deliverable 1.1 - Updated 24/7 LHD Contact Information

As outlined in deliverable 1.1 of the BP1-S LHD Work Plan, EPCs are required to submit the BP1-S LHD Contact Information Form to the MDHHS-BETP-DEPR-PHEP@michigan.gov mailbox with a CC to the regional POC by July 27, 2018. Refer to the BP1-S LHD Work Plan for additional details.

State/Local Medical Countermeasure Work Group

DEPR MCM staff are gauging LHD’s interest in reconvening a work group to address emerging topics related to emergency medical countermeasures. Meetings would occur on a monthly or bi-monthly basis, providing an opportunity to discuss a myriad of topics ranging in scope from program development to exercise design/development. EPCs interested in participating in the proposed State/Local Medical Countermeasure Work Group should contact Jason Smith at smithj20@michigan.gov.


Special Pathogens and Ebola Virus Disease: EMS and Transportation Conference

A Special Pathogens and Ebola Virus Disease: EMS and Transportation Conference will be held at the Livingston County EMS, 1911 Tooley Road, Howell MI 48855, on August 29, 2018, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM EDT. Lunch will be provided. The training is intended for Special Pathogen Response Network (SPRN) EMS Transport teams and regional healthcare coalition leadership, however public health staff, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, paramedics, EMTs, health profession students, emergency management and SPRN team members for hospitals are welcome to attend. Registration is available on MI-TRAIN – course ID: 1078460.


2017 Hurricane Season FEMA After-Action Report

The FEMA 2017 Hurricane Season AAR is being shared for informational purposes only. While hurricanes are not a hazard for MI, the response summary and recommendations for future FEMA responses may be of interest to EPCs. Of note, 2017 had more hurricane survivors registering for assistance than the previous 10 years combined - totaling $265 billion (that is $55 billion more than Hurricane Katrina).
