Clarification on the PFA update yesterday:

Please note: LHDs interested in submitting a letter of intent (LOI) for the CDC Preparedness Field Assignee (PFA) program should send those letters to the MDHHS-BETP-DEPR-PHEP@michigan.gov email address and not directly to the CDC address listed in the PFA assignee placement opportunity document linked below.

CDC Seeking Host Sites for Preparedness Field Assignees

The CDC Division of State and Local Readiness (DSLR) is seeking a limited number of PHEP programs to host DSLR preparedness field assignees (PFAs) to continue their public health emergency preparedness developmental experience. CDC will fund the salaries of entry level public health advisors in a three-year training program to develop skills and additional field experience in state and local emergency preparedness and response. The program provides PFAs with hands-on field training, thus increasing the overall program competency of DSLR staff. Having well-trained DSLR staff with direct experience in the field working side by side with state and local public health preparedness professionals will enable DSLR staff to provide enhanced technical assistance to PHEP recipients.

Linked below is additional information on the DSLR public health preparedness field assignee placement opportunity and the process for requesting a field assignee. Interested jurisdictions must submit letters of intent by February 16, 2018.
