SNS Formulary Overview Webinar Recording

An archived recording of CDC’s September 2017 webinar, “Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Formulary Overview”, is available on DSLR’s Online Technical Resource and Assistance Center (On-TRAC).

The 40-minute video provides an overview of the SNS formulary, regulatory considerations needed for products available in the SNS, and threat-specific pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and equipment available in the SNS. The associated question-and-answer document from the webinar also is posted on On-TRAC.

The archived webinar can be accessed on CDC TRAIN. A CDC Join account is required to access On-TRAC, and a registration form is available online. The SNS webinar course ID number is 1073605.

Due to the changing nature of the SNS formulary and sensitivity of the content, the archived webinar recording and associated question-and-answer document will only be available on TRAIN until February 17, 2018.

Ottawa County Health Department PPHR Recognition

Ottawa County Health Department (OCHD) has been recognized by the National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) for the department’s ability to plan for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies.  OCHD has demonstrated through Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) their preparedness and response capability by meeting a comprehensive set of nationally-recognized standards. PPHR standards focus on three main goals:  all-hazards planning, workforce development, and demonstrating readiness through exercises and real events, and are aligned with federal government requirements and national best practices. PPHR is a rigorous program that requires a tremendous amount of dedication, time and collaborative partnership. OCHD joins more than 400 agencies across the country, and 10 other local health departments in Michigan that have been distinguished for excellence in preparedness through PPHR. Join DEPR in congratulating the Ottawa County Health Department and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, Jennifer Sorek, on their achievement.

PHEP Stories from the Field

The CDC Division of State and Local Readiness (DSLR) is working to share PHEP success stories from the field – examples of how recipients have used PHEP funds to improve health outcomes before, during, and after emergencies. Full-length versions of these stories can be found on the CDC website, and shorter vignettes from each of the 62 PHEP jurisdictions will be featured in CDC’s 2018 preparedness report. Ideas for PHEP success stories can be submitted to Kelcie Landon at xwz2@cdc.gov.
