BENEFITS-PERIOD HOMEOWNER PROGRAM FOR RESIDENTS WHO WERE OVERASSESSED
For years, I’ve been working tirelessly to address the issue of overassessment and find solutions to provide relief to residents who have been impacted. Though legal constraints prevented us from securing cash compensation, I didn’t stop there. I continued to advocate for a remedy for our residents.
After five years of fighting for Detroit homeowners, I’m proud to announce that we have achieved a significant milestone. In 2023, I sponsored a resolution that the City Council unanimously approved, providing special benefits to eligible homeowners now known as the Benefits-Period Homeowner Program.
