 City Council resumed session on September 3, 2019.
The following items were approved during Council recess:
-
Emergency residential demolition at the following District 6 properties: 4072 Junction. 6426 Hanson and 5655 Addison
- 40% ($78,000) in City funding, 60% State funding for air quality monitoring services conducted by the State of Michigan and the Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) for the Gordie Howe International Bridge Project.
- EGLE will conduct ambient air monitoring at 3 new stationary sites and add additional equipment to an existing EGLE air monitoring site on Waterman Street (formerly Southwestern High School).
Dart Mobile App for DDOT and SMART buses

You can now download the Dart mobile app to buy Dart passes to ride DDOT and SMART buses!
Starting October 1st, QLINE will also join the Dart app and accept Dart mobile passes.
When using the app and purchasing a pass, you can show it to the driver when boarding.

Detroit Charter Revision Commission Updates
- Learn about updates from the Detroit Charter Revision Commission via this website! You can find agendas and minutes, committee information and submit your own proposed revisions to the Charter here! The Commission is accepting initial proposals for revisions to the Detroit Charter through December 2019.
Residential Parking Updates
- If you want to start a residential parking zone in your neighborhood, you can start circulating a petition among your neighbors to create the zone. The ordinance requires that 60% of all residences in the zone sign the petition. Once established, 50% of residents must sign up for the permit in order for the ordinance to become active. - The permit application is available at the City Clerk's office Coleman A. Young Municipal Center 2 Woodward Ave. Suite 200) or via this link. There is no petition fee.
