2020 Census Updates

  • The City of Detroit is preparing for the 2020 Census! The 2020 Census form will have a short set of questions about the number of people living in a household, their ages, race, ethnicity and income.
    • It is important that every household fills out its form - the responses will determine how much federal funding Detroit will receive over the next ten years! Federal funding can help programs like Medicare and Medicaid, construction, and housing assistance.
    • Look at this webpage for information on how to get involved, including how to find jobs at the US Census Bureau or as paid canvassers, how to become a Neighborhood Outreach Leader, and how community groups can request a presentation about the census!

Join the Garden Resource Program with Keep Growing Detroit to grow your own vegetables this season! The program costs $15 for family gardens and $30 for community, school or market gardens. You can also receive basic educational opportunities and training! Visit this website for more details.
