A Special Holiday Message from the Recycling Raccoon Squad

’Tis the season to recycle.

How to have a holly, jolly recycle bin.

The holidays approach! A delightful time with lots of opportunities to recycle.

Here are the basics:

WRAPPING PAPER:
Do not recycle wrapping paper that has metallic material or glitter. Plain wrapping paper is recyclable.

STRING LIGHTS:
String lights cannot be recycled curbside. They pose a danger to recycle center workers.

CARDBOARD GIFT BOXES:
Sing it while you recycle it: Fa La La La La, Fa-latten gift boxes.

TAPE, STAPLES AND LABELS:
The Recycling Elves don’t mind cardboard boxes with labels, tape and staples.

These recycling resources bring joy to our world.

The Recycling Raccoons are even good dancers.

Technically, the raccoon mascots are not allowed to sing or even talk. But they sure can dance! Recently went head-to-head and tail-to-tail in a fur-covered dance-off of epic proportions that appeared on social media channels during several broadcasts of “The Masked Singer”. Not only were people able to witness the raccoons’ sickest dance moves, they could also vote for their favorite. Find out who won!

The Art of Recycling

Need a list of all the recycling rules that’s perfect for the fridge or wherever you do your recycling? You got it. Download our Recycling Rules Fact Sheet (PDF) and hang it somewhere highly visible. It’s so cool you’ll be tempted to frame it. (Well, we did. But that‘s just us.)

Share it with your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers or anybody you know who wants to recycle better. Just copy and a paste the link and text or email it to as many friends as you can.

Don’t forget: It’s always a good idea to check with your local recycler to see exactly what you can or cannot recycle in your area!
