Seeking Public Input on Water Quality Monitoring Locations
The DEQ's Water Resources Division (WRD), is soliciting surface water quality monitoring recommendations for next year (2018).  Monitoring efforts will be focused in the watersheds highlighted in the Basin Year 5 (2018) map. However, surface water quality monitoring requests in other Michigan watersheds, including the Great Lakes and their connecting channels, will be considered.

The MDEQ welcomes recommendations for monitoring water or sediment chemistry, contaminants in fish, fish or macroinvertebrate communities, nuisance aquatic plant or algae growth, invasive species, E. coli bacteria, and other issues. To be considered for sampling in 2018, please submit your Monitoring Request Form(s) by October 31, 2017.  Please refer to the Monitoring Request Form Web site and instructions before completing the request form.
