Lunch and Learn: A New Opportunity to Build Your Skills
Michigan Department of Technology Management and Budget sent this bulletin at 01/16/2014 01:34 PM EST
All DTMB employees are invited to bring their lunches and enhance their skills during a series of noontime learning presentations. Presenters from DTMB and other organizations will offer insight and entertain questions and comments at these monthly programs. Each session is held twice – once in downtown Lansing and again at the Secondary Complex. Employees may attend the event that is most convenient.
February: Career Paths
Presented by Phil Jeffery, Rod Davenport and Tina Richardson
- Tuesday, Feb. 4, 12 to 1 p.m. GOB Conference Room A, Secondary Complex
- Wednesday, Feb. 5, 12 to 1 p.m. Ottawa Building Conference Room 3, Downtown Lansing
Every working person has a career path, and each path takes its own direction. Members of DTMB’s executive team will discuss their careers, share the lessons they learned along the way, and answer questions from the audience. Presenters will include:
Phil Jeffery, Chief Deputy Director
Jeffery oversees operations of DTMB's "management side." He came to the department from Gov. Rick Snyder's administration, where he was deputy director of strategy with a focus on performance management and accountability. Before moving to Michigan, he was deputy director of the Utah Governor's Office of Planning and Budget.
Rod Davenport, Chief Technology Officer
As Michigan’s chief technology officer, Davenport is responsible for IT strategy, vendor management and innovation. The path to his current position covered 20 years working in a variety of industries, including publishing, automotive, healthcare and energy with skills developed across a broad array of computer technology disciplines.
Tina Richardson, Deputy Director of Facilities and Business Services Administration
As a career state employee, Richardson has developed her business-related skills in a wide range of public-service assignments. She currently has responsibility for DTMB’s building operations, design and construction and real estate divisions. She has overseen budget and finance operations and human resources functions. She also has worked as an auditor, accountant and financial manager.
