On Wednesday, June 3, senior leaders from DTMB issued a joint statement on unity in response to the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor and the subsequent turmoil unfolding in cities and communities across the U.S. In the statement, senior leaders said the racial injustices being peacefully protested in our state and others need to be acknowledged and addressed and called for all of us to pull together – not through violence and destruction – but through the hard work of building a community that is inclusive of everyone.
To view the full statement, visit Inside DTMB. Gov. Whitmer also issued a message to state employees June 3. That content of that email is available on Inside Michigan.
