System Maintenance: CEPI Applications and MI School Data

CEPI applications and MI School Data will be intermittently offline for maintenance on Sunday, Sep. 1 from 6 a.m. to noon EDT. Only limited informational inquires will be available during this time.

MSDS Early Childhood EOP Collection Deadline

The Early Childhood End of Program Collection certification deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 28. Records must  be certified by 11:59 p.m.

MSDS: Removal of Request for UIC and 2022-23 Data

CEPI will remove all Request for UIC Collection data as well as 2022-23 school year data from the staging area during the school year rollover.

If you wish to retain these data, download and save your collections and reports by Sept. 15. After this date, users will no longer have access to these collections.

Once rollover completes, the new Request for UIC Collection will open for the 2024-25 school year. The updated schema, sample file and schema summary have been posted for the 2024-25 Request for UIC Collection.

FID Opening Sept. 3

The Financial Information Database collection opens Sept. 3. Please view CEPI's FID web page for support materials. Visit MDE's website to view the Michigan Public School Accounting Manual.

Recent FID changes to be aware of:

  • Dual Enrollment Expenditures are submitted in the expenditure upload file within object code 3720 dedicated to Dual Enrollment Tuition Paid to Postsecondary Institutions, and 3730 for Early Middle College Tuition and Fees Paid to Postsecondary Institutions.
  • During the 2023-24 FID collection, all expenditures coded with function codes 21x and 22x will receive a warning if there is not a valid school code assigned. The following FID collection year, a valid building code will be required for these function codes.

FID SE-4094 and SE-4096 Collections Open with Removal of Federal Expenditures

The Special Education Transportation Expenditure Report (SE-4094) and Special Education Actual Cost Report (SE-4096) are now open in FID. The SE-4096 collection no longer includes Federal Grant Expenditures. District users should log into FID to complete and submit the forms to their intermediate school districts by:

  • SE-4096: Sept. 16
  • SE-4094: Sept. 24

ISDs will submit their own and all constituent district forms by 11:59 p.m.:

  • SE-4096: Sept. 30
  • SE-4094: Oct. 7

Nonpublic School Personnel Report Opening Sept. 1

The Nonpublic School Personnel Report opens Sept. 1. For additional resources, please visit the Nonpublic Schools web page. The collection closes on Dec. 1.

CEPI will be presenting on the NPSPR at a webinar hosted by the Michigan Association of Non-public Schools at 10 a.m. on Sept. 10.

REP Open for Thirty Day Reporting and Educator Effectiveness Appeals

REP is currently open and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 1.

Per MCL 388.1619 (3), districts must update personnel changes within 30 days of a staffing event. To meet the requirement, updated records need to be entered in REP and free of any fatal errors (marked with a red stop sign icon).

Review the Fall 2024 REP Data Field Descriptions for updates to the fall submission. Some highlighted changes include

  • Field 20: Educator Effectiveness ratings and business rule changes.
  • Field 9: Date of Hire required for Vacant Funded positions to reflect vacancy start date.

The Educator Effectiveness Appeals window is also open. For more information on how to submit an appeal, please see the Educator Effectiveness Appeals guide. The EE Appeals window will end at 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 1.

Graduation Rate Appeals Office Hours

CEPI will host virtual office hours on Friday, Aug. 30 from 10 - 11 a.m. This session will provide an overview of the GAD Appeals Checklist, with most of the time being open for districts to ask questions regarding GAD.

Back to School Parchment Webinar

Parchment will be hosting an informational webinar on Back to School Success. You can attend on either Thursday, Aug. 22 or Thursday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. EST.

These events will cover the following items:

  • New Parchment features.
  • Best practices and resources for you and your students.
  • Product highlights and features you may not be using (but should).

Submission of CEPI Application Security Forms

Beginning Sept. 1, CEPI will no longer accept faxed security forms. All security forms will need to be emailed to cepi@michigan.gov.  

MI School Data News

Visit MI School Data to view updates to state testing data. The College Readiness (Includes SAT Data), English Learner AssessmentGrades 3-8 State Testing (Includes PSAT Data) and High School State Testing reports have been updated in preview.
