Civil Rights Data Collection for SY 2021-22 Opens Dec. 11

The Civil Rights Data Collection is submitted by districts directly to the CRDC. Information can be found on OCRR's CRDC website and the CRDC Resource Center website. Local education agencies may also contact the CRDC Partner Support Center by email (crdc@aemcorp.com) or phone (855-255-6901).

The data submission system will close on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024.

Snack-Pack Special Education Update

The Student Snack-Pack, built in partnership with the Michigan Data Hub, allows participating districts to quickly retrieve critical eligibility and participation data for newly transferred students.

An update to the Snack-Pack has improved the return of Special Education data. Previously, Special Education data were not always returned when multiple districts reported a student and only one district reported SE data. The fields impacted are IEP/Plan Date, Primary Disability and Special Education Exit Date.

Data Matters: EMC Additional Graduation Award

In 2021-22, CEPI began collecting Additional Graduation Award data for high school students who successfully complete an Early Middle College program and earn an award in addition to a high school diploma.

Districts report the Additional Graduation Award field in the MSDS General or SRM Collections when a student exits as an EMC Completer (District Exit Code 40). An error will occur if Exit Code 40 is reported without at least one additional award.

In 2023, the Graduation and Dropout Application was updated to allow auditors to audit Additional Graduation Award data in GAD. Thank you to the auditors and district users for your work to submit thorough, accurate data.

Impact:

Additional Graduation Award data show the achievements of Michigan’s EMC students. This information is reviewed by the Michigan Department of Education and provided to districts as part of the Early Middle College Top 10 Strategic Metrics. These metrics help districts recognize both program successes and opportunities for improvement.

In 2021-22 a total of 3,791 Additional Graduation Awards were reported:

  • Associate Degree: 1,374
  • 60 Transferrable College Credits: 342
  • Professional Certification: 113
  • Michigan Early Middle College Association Certificate: 1,958
  • Registered Apprenticeship Program: 4

Accurate additional award data help students, parents and educators evaluate the quality and effectiveness of Michigan’s EMC programs.
