Fall is in the air at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market
Saturday, Oct. 17, the Ann Arbor Farmers Market is open for onsite sales, 7 a.m.-3 p.m. (and on Wednesday, Oct. 21) at 315 Detroit St. The market will be filled with autumn staples like apples, pears, apple cider, donuts, fall raspberries, winter squash, pumpkins, gourds, sweet potatoes and more. Vendors will also have a huge a variety of vegetables including late season tomatoes, peppers, greens, plus herbs, flowers, plants, meat, eggs, cheese, bread, honey, baked goods, coffee, hot sauce, pickles, Polish food, Mediterranean food, masks, candles, jewelry, textiles and body care products! Preordering from select vendors continues with curbside or walk-in pick up 7 a.m.-noon. For preorders, contact the vendor directly from our 
directory. We are accepting cash, and tokens for credit cards and SNAP/EBT/P-EBT are available at our market office window. While shopping and picking up preorders, please follow all physical distancing and safety guidelines posted and communicated by market staff. All vendors and market staff are required to wear masks, and masks are required for customers as well. You’ll find additional information on our website.

Natural Area Preservation Stewardship Workday
On Sunday, Oct. 25,  Narrow Gauge Way Nature Area, 1-4 p.m., visit a beloved neighborhood park known for its precious geologic features. Between 10,000 and 16,000 thousand years ago, the advancing and retreating of glaciers across the land created features known as a kames. Narrow Gauge Way has one of these kames, which is a sand and gravel hill deposited from an ice sheet. Enjoy views of this natural wonder as we remove invasive shrubs from the park. Preregistration is required here. Participants must wear a mask and maintain at least 6 feet of distance from others at all times. Please wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and leather work gloves. All minors should be accompanied by a guardian. Meeting location will be provided during registration.

Ann Arbor senior drive-thru Halloween spooktacular event
Tuesday Oct. 27, noon-2 p.m., the Ann Arbor Senior Center and Brookdale of Ann Arbor will be offering coffee, doughnuts and a goodie bag giveaway to all seniors! When you drive by the senior center (1320 Baldwin Ave.), you will also be entered a drawing to win a $50 Zingerman’s Deli gift card. Costumes encouraged.
