Fuller Park Pool Swim Lessons
Our swim lessons begin this weekend. Have you signed up - it's not too late? All skill levels welcome. Session #1, Saturdays, June 2-July 21 and Session #2 will be Sundays. We also offer 30 minute mermaid/merman private lessons on Saturdays between 9:30 and 1:30 p.m. We supply all equipment and will give participants a flash drive with pictures of their experience on it! The Ann Arbor Farmers Market, together with GIVE 365, are looking for volunteers for the June 6 Food Truck Rally from 4-8 p.m., to help make it a Zero Waste event. Please contact the market office 734.794.6255 or 734.794.6445 if you are interested.

Come visit the Ann Arbor Farmers Market Wednesdays and Saturdays 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Free parking in the Ann/Ashley parking structure on Saturdays and Boober Tour Bikes will shuttle you to your vehicle from the market. Become a Lifeguard in Training (LIT)
We are looking for highly motivated future lifeguards who are 14-15 years of age. You do not need to be Red Cross Certified in Lifeguarding and CPR for the Professional Rescuer in order to participate. As a LIT, you will help our pool staff provide high quality, fun and safe outdoor experiences for our daily swimmers. This wonderful opportunity is for those hoping to become lifeguards and who want to further develop their leadership and communication skills as well as gain valuable experiences in lifeguarding skills. Offered at any one of our three city outdoor pools: Buhr, Fuller or Veterans Memorial. The LIT program requirements:
• Commit one, five hour shift per week for the month of July.
• Attend a bi-weekly in-service training with the pool staff.
• Volunteer at a Splash Day event at any of the pools.

Natural Area Preservation Stewardship Workdays - Saturday, June 2
For the following events please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. All participants must complete a release form, and all minors should be accompanied by a guardian. Tools, snacks, and know-how provided.

* Leslie Woods Nature Area, 9 a.m.-noon. This woodland has some of the largest oaks in the Ann Arbor parks. The plants here are threatened by invasive species like garlic mustard. Join us to remove non-native species and allow native plants to flourish. Meet us at the park entrance at the north end of Upland Drive, north of Plymouth Road. 

* Stapp Nature Area, 1-4 p.m. Stapp Nature Area boasts a large diversity of trees in a small area. It’s a great place to go for a walk and observe wildlife and wildflowers. Come celebrate National Trails Day and help us build a new entrance trail to the park. Meet at the park sign at the corner of Huron Parkway and Tuebingen Parkway.

* Join us at Bird Hills Nature Area from 9 a.m.-noon. Calling all trail advocates! Bird Hills is a favorite hiking destination of many, with 3.7 miles of hilly trails. Join us on National Trails Day to maintain these trails so visitors can continue to enjoy their hikes. Meet at the Beechwood entrance off of Sunset Road.

* Brokaw Nature Area, 1-4 p.m. Brokaw Nature Area is one of Ann Arbor’s newest parks. It needs some trails so visitors can enjoy its beauty. Celebrate National Trails day with us by creating some trails on this new property. Meet at the park entrance on Huron River Drive just south of Wagner Road. Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. All participants must complete a release form, and all minors should be accompanied by a guardian. Tools, snacks, and know-how provided.

GIVE 365 Volunteers Needed
* Love a Park Day, Sunday, June 3, 1-3p.m., Wurster Park. Let's get this popular family park ready for summer! We will be pulling weeds in the garden areas, playground, and volleyball court. Meet at 525 W. Madison St. We bring the music, refreshments and tools; you bring the energy and desire to make a difference and together we make a beautiful parknership! Red Fish, Blue Fish, Teach Kids to Fish, Sunday, June 10, 9-11:30 a.m. Join us at Gallup Park (3000 Fuller Rd.) to teach children how to fish during Free Fishing Weekend for Michigan. Duties include helping kids set up fishing poles, worming hooks, and releasing fish that are caught. Sign up by contacting volunteer@a2gov.org or 734.794.6445.

Canoe Liveries are open
Argo and Gallup Canoe Liveries are open. River trips are open. The river flow is fast therefore we have the following requirements for the river trips - must be experienced paddlers (+5 times in a river current), children under 8 years old must be in our 6-person rafts, everyone must be capable swimmers and kayaks and rafts only.For details on river trips and stillwater paddles http://www.a2gov.org/canoe or call 734.794.6240. Argo Canoe Livery and Gallup Canoe Livery are now open every day 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Stillwater paddles in the 2 mile area of Argo and Gallup Pond are available.
