The Maine Immunization Program is pleased to host our annual Back-to-School educational lunch and learn webinar on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 @ 12:00 PM. This educational webinar will review Maine’s immunization requirements for school aged children attending public/private school, including other routine recommended immunizations for keeping students healthy and in school.
Please join us for this educational opportunity to learn more about back-to-school immunization requirements and routine recommended vaccine prevention for childhood and adolescent age groups.
Maine will continue to follow the guidance of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) on childhood vaccine recommendations, despite President Trump’s executive order on childhood vaccinations, per the Maine Department of Health and Human Services’ Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC).
August is National Immunization Awareness Month, a time to highlight the importance of immunization and encourage people of all ages to make sure they are up to date on recommended vaccines.
This summer, Maine made it easier for more people to access vaccines when the Maine Immunization Program expanded to include adults ages 19 to 64; building on the State’s longstanding program for children and increasing access to recommended vaccines across the lifespan.
Participating providers can receive approved vaccines at no cost, order pediatric and adult vaccines through one streamlined system, and offer vaccination at more locations across the state. The expansion also helps reduce financial barriers for both providers and patients while supporting broader access to adult immunization.
The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) will host a webinar on Tuesday, August 25 at 2:00 PM ET focused on current childhood and adolescent immunization recommendations, immunization coverage and barriers, and communication strategies to improve vaccination rates ahead of the school year. There is no fee to participate in this activity, but pre-registration is required: here.
An on-demand recording will be available for registered attendees.
