Subject: Important Vaccine Shipment Update
Date: January 8, 2025
We are writing to address recent issues regarding vaccine shipments and to ensure proper procedures are followed to maintain vaccine viability and prevent wastage.
Please review the steps below to ensure your staff know how to receive vaccine shipments and report missing vaccine. Errors in shipments must be reported to McKesson within the same day the vaccine arrived. Any missing vaccine that has not been reported within this time period will now be counted towards provider wastage.
Please review your provider agreement in ImmPact to ensure your available shipping hours are up to date.
Immediate Actions Upon Receiving Vaccine Shipments:
- If there are concerns (e.g., temperature monitors are out of range or not activated, or there are issues with the chemical indicators), contact McKesson Specialty Customer Care (MSCC) immediately at (855) 477-9800.
Additional Requirements for Reporting Concerns:
- Do not discard packing materials until MSCC provides viability determination.
- Take a clear photo of the temperature monitor and packing slip.
- Provide the following details when reporting to MSCC:
- Order number
- Picture of the temperature monitor/tag alert
- Date of delivery and any identified temperature monitoring issues.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact MIP at (207) 287-3746 or the ImmPact Helpdesk at (207) 287-3006.
Thank you for your continued efforts to ensure vaccine viability for patients and in maintaining compliance with MIP and CDC requirements.
