National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) is recognized annually in April and highlights the importance of protecting children two years and younger from vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs). NIIW is April 22-29, 2024. It is recommended that children stay on track with their well-child appointments and routine vaccinations. Completing the recommended vaccinations by age two, is the best way to provide protection to young children against potentially life-threatening diseases.

Last week, MIP sent out a survey to providers with a request to complete a brief survey regarding data logger needs to help us as we prepare to upgrade.
We ask that you please complete this survey no later than Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
We have received several questions from providers regarding the data loggers and have created an FAQ document to address the questions.

If you have wasted, spoiled, or expired COVID-19 vaccine (including ones that were transferred from ultra cold storage and have reached the 10-week expiration), please contact us either by email or by calling the help desk at 207-287-3006. When contacting us, please provide the following information:
- Lot number(s)
- Quantity to be returned
Note: If any of the vials were open or the seal had been broken, please specify the lot # and the quantity.
Once we have received this information, we will manually remove the doses from your inventory. This will then populate to your 'manage returns' to be returned.
Any open vial that has been wasted, spoiled or expired must be disposed of properly on site.
The Immunization Champion Award will honor up to one Champion from each of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, six cities, and eight U.S. territories. This award recognizes individuals who are working at the local level. It honors those doing an exemplary job or going above and beyond to promote or foster immunizations in their communities, for both children and adults.
