IMPORTANT: Change to 30-Day Pend Time for Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Claims

Beginning on April 20, 2021, the pend time for Personal Care Services (PCS) claims will be 30 days. This means that starting on April 20, 2021, PCS claims that have been in pend status for a time period between 31 and 45 days because they have not yet matched with a verified EVV record will deny. Please enter verified visit records before April 20, 2021 to avoid claim denials.

On February 1, 2021, we announced that PCS claims with dates of service beginning January 1, 2021 would pend for up to 45 days and then deny if no verified EVV record was found. Now that many of the technical issues that providers experienced upon implementation have been resolved, we have changed this back to the original 30 day pend period.

Please enter verified EVV visit records in a timely manner. The sooner a visit record is found for a claim, the sooner the claim will process. To avoid delays, ensure a verified EVV record is in the Sandata or alternate EVV system prior to submitting the accompanying claim. Claims are evaluated against verified EVV records. If a verified EVV record is found, the claim will go through the usual claims edit process. Please note that claims may also pend for reasons other than EVV.
