Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Update

To support providers in their response to COVID-19, the Department of Health and Human Services will postpone implementation of EVV for all Personal Care Services (PCS) until January 1, 2021. For more detailed description of what services require EVV on January 1, 2021, see the EVV FAQ webpage. The Department is still planning a pre-implementation pend process and will announce the date of the pend process at a later time.

Providers are encouraged to continue preparing for EVV implementation and should not delay any work that is currently underway. Providers can visit MaineCare’s EVV webpage for training information, system requirements, and other EVV resources. The Department will continue with scheduled EVV trainings and provider forums.

Please note that any services that require an in-home visit by a provider through Section 40, Home Health Services and Section 43, Hospice Services must comply with EVV beginning on January 1, 2023.

Providers using Alternate or 3rd Party EVV Systems

If you are planning to utilize an Alternate or 3rd Party EVV system, we encourage you to use the State EVV system until you have completed the Alternate EVV System Integration process. To begin using the State EVV system, please follow the instructions in the EVV System Set-Up Options section of the EVV webpage. If you have not yet logged into the State EVV system, your account may require a password reset. Please contact Provider Services for assistance.
