The Ethics in Prevention training provides Substance Use Prevention Specialists opportunities to engage in discussions of the six key principles of the Prevention Code of Ethics and explore a four-step decision-making model for assessing, addressing, and evaluating a range of ethical issues. This training provides opportunities to engage in discussions of the six key principles of the Prevention Code of Ethics and explore a four-step decision-making model for assessing, addressing, and evaluating a range of ethical issues.

Participants completing the training will receive a certificate of attendance for seven hours of participation which can be submitted to the Maine Prevention Certification Board to meet the prevention ethics requirement for Prevention Specialist certification or re-certification. This training is endorsed by the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC).

Learning Objectives:

·         Participants will gain knowledge and skills regarding ethical responsibilities and practices

·         Explore a four-step decision-making model for assessing, addressing, and evaluating a range of ethical issues.

Date: Wednesday, September 4, 2019  Location: Augusta Civic Center ~ Augusta, ME

Time: 8:30 AM- 5:00 PM (Check-in begins at 8:00 AM)

*If you arrive late or leave early, AdCare will need to adjust the contact hours on your certificate of attendance.

Registration Fee: $50

Save $10 if you PAY by Wednesday, August 28th- Early Bird fee $40 Note: This Ethics workshop is intended for people who work in the Substance Use Prevention Field. This workshop will NOT address ethical issues for Treatment Providers and will NOT satisfy the ethics requirements for Treatment Providers. For Example: LADC, CADC, LCSW, Etc.
