We have upgraded ImmPact, Maine’s Immunization Information System (IIS) as of May 21, 2018.  All users should be accessing the new IIS using the URL https://immpact.maine.gov

Users will need to reset their password once they sign in and complete the security questions.

ImmPact now has a self service help option. Please utilize the light bulb feature to assist you in navigating and understanding ImmPact. It has a wealth of information. We will have a USER MANUAL available soon!

Reports of Shingrix Administration Errors

U.S. CDC recently released an MMWR report detailing the types of errors that have been reported to VAERS from October 20, 2017 thru February 20, 2018 associated with Shingrix (RZV). Within this time there have been multiple reports of administration and storage & handling errors. As a reminder the following apply to Shingrix (RZV)

  • Administration: Intramuscularly (IM)
  • Age range: Approved for immunocompetent adults aged 50 years old and older
  • Storage & Handling: Store in the refrigerator between 36°F - 46°F – do not freeze
  • Reconstitution: Mix the adjuvant vial provided with the antigen vial provided prior to administration; use within 6 hours of reconstitution
  • VIS: There is a VIS specifically for Shingrix (RZV) which can be found here.
  • Dosing: Shingrix (RZV) is a two (2) dose series, with dose 1 and dose 2 separated by a minimum of 4 weeks

Meningococcal Updates 

The Immunization Action Coalition (IAC) updated its 4-page Q&A handout for patients and healthcare professionals: “Meningococcal: Questions and Answers”.


Changes were made to update morbidity and mortality data, to update types of available vaccine (Meningococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine "MPSV4" is no longer available), and to make other edits.
