Reminder: Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Providers Only: X12 File for EDI Claims, Update for ICD-10

If you are a DME provider and submit claims through the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), you MUST populate segment SV5 in the X12 file if your claims span the ICD-10 implementation date (10/1/2015).   If you do not populate SV5 when spanning, the claims will be rejected.  You can avoid this rejection by populating the SV5 segment in the X12 file or by submitting your DME via Direct Data Entry (DDE) on the MyHealthPas Portal.

When billing DME claims that span the ICD-10 implementation date, you must use an ICD-9 code that is valid at the FROM date of service.

If you have questions, please contact us through the ICD-10 email box.

Don’t Miss Important Information!

Out with the old and in with the new!

Now that we have transitioned to our new e-message service, we have discontinued the use of the Provider Notification listserv and will not be sending messages through the old service.

Select the topics you want more information about!

The new e-message service allows you to select which topics you want more information about. Starting next week, we will no longer send the same message in several different e-message topics, unless the message is applicable to those topics. For example, you will not receive policy notices from the General Topic and the Policy and State Plan Amendments topic but only receive them from the Policy and State Plan Amendments topic e-message service. Please be careful to select the topics you would like more information about.

The following are MaineCare’s available e-message topics:

  • General Topic (Claims and Billing Issues and Updates)
  • ICD-10
  • MaineCare Members
  • Pharmacy
  • Policy and State Plan Amendments
  • School-Based Services
  • Value-Based Purchasing

To update your preferences, please select the link at the bottom of this e-message.

Please contact the Communications Team with questions.
