Specifically, they support their reintegration process by connecting these veterans to a reliable friend in their community. Team RWB uses athletic events to build awareness, fund raise and inspire others to join their team.
Veterans with questions about available services should contact their local CareerCenter. Veterans and eligible spouses are given priority of service for the receipt of employment, training and placement services provided under most Maine Department of Labor-funded programs. All CareerCenter services are no cost.
Maine CareerCenters offer specialized employment services to help Veterans find jobs get trained, or access services, including:

Veteran Benefits Workshop Assists Laid-Off Verso Workers
Jim Doherty, VA Staff Assistant to the Director, speaks to the audience.
ORLAND--Thirty-eight Veterans impacted by the layoffs at Verso Paper Mill attended the Customized Veterans Benefit Workshop held at the Orland Community Center on January 8, 2015.
Each expert presenter spoke about the services available to these laid-off Verso Paper Mill workers and how these services could remove barriers to employment caused by this mass lay off. Twenty-two of the Veterans who attended returned completed satisfaction surveys with an average rating on a scale of 1 to 4 of 3.73.
A big “Thank You” to all of the presenters who helped these Veterans as they go through this difficult time following the mill closing.
