The MaineLinks October 11, 2021 Maine Department of Labor sent this bulletin at 10/08/2021 11:12 AM EDT The MaineLinks Newsletter Week of October 11, 2021 Training Resources & Information What to Know! The Maine Department of Labor provides workshops, local and virtual hiring events and postings on Maine JobLink to help connect workers to job opportunities. Have you realize you’re not in a job where you’re living up to your potential, here are steps you can take and questions to answer to help you make informed decisions on next move: Carefully list out the skills, certifications, training and experience you have that qualifies you to do more at either your current workplace or another. Export those skills that are transferable to the work you’re doing today, remembering that the work you did that was unique before may not transfer. Review the job description for your current role. Did you choose a position that did not require the level of training you have? This could mean that while you’re qualified to do more, the need may not be there from your employer. If you are doing work that could be expanded to leverage your talents, consider who is doing that work today. Are they qualified in ways you’re not? Does your employer clearly understand the depth of your skills and training? Did you understand the job description prior to accepting the position? Talk with your employer to see how to better leverage your work and responsibilities. This Week!
