May 2016 Newsletter from the Division for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Late Deafened

Director's Report

Terry Morrill

May was Better Speech and Hearing Month. We have included an article in this issue related to that. I also would like to share that the 28th Annual Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Conference will be happening on June 17, 2016 at Colby College in Waterville. If you are Deaf, hard of hearing, work or interact with Deaf and hard-of-hearing people, I strongly encourage you to attend this conference. Please see the attached flyer below and register for this conference.

I am excited to share that September 15, 2016, will be the 25th Annual Deaf Tea awards. I would also like to remind people to please submit nominations for the Annual Deaf Tea Awards. If you know someone who deserves to be recognized for their hard work in the Deaf community please nominate them. If you have questions or need help filling out the form, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help you.

Invitations and award ballots for the 2016 Deaf Culture Tea and Awards are now available online.
