Important Information About Your Maine Job Bank Resume
Dear Maine Job Bank User,
As we introduced in yesterday’s email, Maine Job Bank is
getting a fresh new look and will become Maine JobLink later this summer. Resumes within Maine
Job Bank accounts that are in Microsoft Word (.doc) or Rich Text File (.rtf) format will
transfer over to Maine JobLink. The resume on your current Maine Job Bank
account is in PDF format (.pdf). In order for it to correctly transfer into the new
system, you will need to replace your PDF resume in Maine Job Bank as a Word
Document or Rich Text File by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday,
June 15, 2016.
You can do this by following these steps:
- Locate the original file in which you created
your resume (this was probably in Microsoft Word). If you cannot locate this file or no longer
have access to it, see step 3.
- Login to Maine Job Bank
- If the only copy of your resume that you have is
the .pdf in your Maine Job Bank account, and you want to make sure the
information transfers to your new Maine JobLink account, download your current
PDF resume from the Job Bank; open it and copy and paste the text from it into
a new Microsoft Word Document*. Save it as either a .doc or Rich Text File
(.rtf)
- Attach the Word Document or Rich Text File of
your resume to your Maine Job Bank account profile.
*Note: Resumes created
in Microsoft Word must be saved as a .doc file and not as a .docx. The .docx
file is not compatible for this transition. If you do not have Microsoft Word, Google Docs is a free online tool that will allow you to
create a document and save it as a Word file. A free Gmail account is required
for Google Docs.
Any PDF resume left in the
current Maine Job Bank beyond 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, will not be available in the new Maine JobLink system, which will then require a new upload or a new resume generated through the system’s
resume builder. Unemployment claimants who do not have a resume on the new Maine JobLink after launch later
this summer could have their ability to collect weekly unemployment benefits affected.
We are confident that you will love the new Maine JobLink
and ask for your patience during the transition.
Watch for updates over the coming weeks at www.mainecareercenter.com.
