Numerous stakeholders expressed concern that the rulemaking topic of program goals was not covered sufficiently during the most recent set of stakeholder meetings. To address this concern, we would like to hold a discussion of program goals after hearing comments on education and investment during the May 9th stakeholder meeting.
As previously noted, the Department will hold Meeting 1 for the topic of education and investment on Tuesday, May 9th, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm EDT, virtually and in person. As a reminder, Meeting 1 will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to provide information and their perspective on the topic and Meeting 2 will allow for discussion of issues raised during Meeting 1. The Department would find it helpful if comments spoke to the questions provided in the background document. In addition, we are aware that this stakeholder meeting coincides with the Maine Resource Recovery Association’s (MRRA) Annual Conference and Trade Show. MRRA will be streaming the stakeholder meeting for those who would like to attend and participate at the conference.
