This workshop is intended for foresters, loggers, and landowners and will provide a basic understanding of Maine’s timber harvesting rules. The program will focus on rules concerning water quality, clearcutting, liquidation harvesting, and forest operations notifications. The workshop will not cover laws and rules enforced by the Forest Protection Division/Forest Rangers. Participants will receive a copy of the MFS publication, “The Forestry Rules of Maine.”

The workshop will begin with sign-in and refreshments at 8:30; presentations begin at 9:00. Attendance is limited to 35 persons, and pre-registration is required. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Continuing Education:

  • SAF/LF - 3.5 hrs. (Category 1)
  • CLP – 1 day
  • QLP – 4 credits
  • Master Logger – 5 credits.
